Illuminazioni at La Biennale di Venezia – 54° Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte

Clara came to visit me for a whole week, that was a kind of rollercoaster holiday, we did EVERYTHING.
We also took a day to visit La Biennale in Venezia, one of the most hurries days.
I didn’t like it as the last edition “FARE MONDI”, but I enjoyed United States, France, Luigi Ghirri, and the lift game.

A few months ago my brother Marco went to CALI for a reportage/trip and he did the greatest pics I’ve ever seen.

Olimpia Zagnoli is first of all a young woman, tall, brown hair, with big rounded red glasses. She is an Illustrator, a real one, and I care a lot of her cause she gives me hope to believe there are interesting girls who likes doing something different from others, working hard on herself. She is cool even without a pet, big stuff!
I discovered her 2 years ago, while I was watching Adidas Contest for young artist and she immediately caught my attention, drawing on the streets. I was so happy she won the contest, so I started following her and I found she was the essential illustrator, clean, simple, and strong at the same time. So 50s.
She is working for The New Yorker, and a lots of magazines, plus you can even download The Scoop app for iphone with her drawings, useful and nice.. if you are in the Big Apple off course.
I even asked her for a family portrait, and I’m still waiting for that, no hurry cause she is super busy, but I’m looking forward to own a OZ art piece at home.
She was the greatest meeting in my 2010, cause she also reminds me one of my best friend, AA.

It’s a book from Florent Chavouet, I received as gift from Clara a few months ago; it’s one of my fav illustrated books cause it’s well drawn and it’s about his trip in Japan.

I Need Project for Ladakh

Today I went to an exhibition/charity auction for the Ladakh’s Flood, organized from I NEED.
The exhibition was about pictures taken by a guy who lived that dramatic experience, and once he was back safe to Italy, he invited more than 20 Italian designers/cartoonist, to reproduce the photos, taking inspiration from those.
I won one of them from Roberto Grassilli, comic cartoonist, who I had the pleasure to meet during the auction.
Also I won the original photo, one bottle of white wine, one t-shirt, and the comic strips book from the same designer (all in one).

This rainy grey morning I received a funny draw from a designer I really enjoy, Giulia Sagramola.
I ordered it cause I want to hang it on the bathroom wall, close to the mirror, so every morning I can find inspiration for my hairdo.

Also she was really nice to put a gift in the parcel.

The Selby is in your place is a book’s project by Todd Selby which offers an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces with many details.
The book has been released only 2 weeks ago and it’s already sold out, cause it offers new pictures, different from website. I got it today from Mr. Amazon, which is always welcome here.

I Need X Haiti – The day after

Thanks to all the artists, to Giovanni/Minimalsonic to Ilaria, to Senape location, and to everybody came.
The organization of I NEED X HAITI gave a bag to be customized to nearly 30 artist. I decided for the black one, and I started to work like a grandma to realize something super handmade. At the end of the day I was exhausted, but the bag has been sold for a lot and this is a good reason for having a backache.
